A general rule of thumb is 1 stud per horsepower. So, if you have approx 115 hp, I'd go with 120 or 144. Especially so with a 121-inch track and the relatively long studs that you will have. Both my wife's and my sled have 120 studs. Mine is a 2,2,2,4 pattern and her's is a 2,2,3,2,2,4 pattern.

In fact, one of the video shows did an on ice test and both starting and stopping the ice ripper took slightly longer at both. I think you'd be rippin out studs all the time, if they'd even be very effective. I don't think I've seen 'em that long.
