WebJan 6, 2008 · Everytime the central heating is switched on I can hear a reasonably loud “rushing water” sound from the radiators. I friend of mine thinks it could be air in the system. I have bled all the radiators and the sound still remains. Also, the only automatic air vent in the system are in the boiler. WebJan 28, 2024 · The fact that the water is running for a few seconds after is normal especially if there is a pressure tank. But the hot water tank itself will act like a pressure tank. Sounds like your heat exchanger may have had it, you need to get a Gas safe engineer in to take a look for you. If you are lucky, may just be a leaking connection, but from what you have said about the noises, sounds more serious. May have to think about a new boiler if it is the heat exchanger I'm afraid.
